
Meet Our Teachers
Mr. Timothy Bateup (AOversight/fourth class/introduction/Uni prep)
Mr Bateup directly manages the Strategic Leadership Team, is a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and teaches mathematics. Mr Bateup has a degree in Mathematics from Warwick University. Before joining King's Maths School he was Head of Mathematics at City of London School for Girls.
Ms. Isda Idros (Maths)
Ms Idros is the Assistant Head (Academic) at King's Maths School and is responsible for the timetable, the calendar and the smooth operation of the school on a day-to-day basis.
Before becoming Assistant Head, Ms Idros was the Lead Teacher for Outreach. Prior to joining KCLMS, she was Head of Maths at Pimlico Academy for a decade.Ms Idros has previously worked with local primaries to run maths masterclasses. In addition, she has provided maths consultancy and middle leadership mentoring for new heads of department. She has also been a GCSE examiner with Pearson.
Ms Idros also worked for MESME (Maths Education for Social Mobility and Enrichment). She obtained a BSc in Maths from Imperial College London. She subsequently trained through Teach First.
Mr. Louis Collier (Further Maths)
Mr Collier is a Deputy Head of Mathematics at KCLMS. He holds a degree in Physics from Oxford University, and a PGCE from UCL’s Institute of Education. Before training as a teacher, Louis worked as an analyst in the digital and tech education sector.
Ms. Eirini Birmpili (Physics)
Ms Birmpili studied Physics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She did a Physics PGCE with UEL. Her previous school was an 11-18 state school in East London.
Ms Birmpili is also the school’s special educational needs coordinator and the Head of Year 12, who is responsible for ensuring that students have access to information about a wide range of opportunities for their careers and further education.
Ms. Obehi Orukpe
Miss Orukpe is the Assistant Headteacher for Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare. She is the Designated Safeguarding Lead and has oversight of all pastoral matters at King's Maths School. She also teaches Maths and Personal Development.

She joined KCLMS from Townley Grammar School where she worked as a maths teacher, learning manager in the sixth form, designated safeguarding officer as well as a member of the senior leadership team with a particular focus on student leadership and careers.
She has an MSci degree in Mathematics from Queen Mary University of London.
